You can still type text into the cell if you want, but since the equation is the cell's background, the text won't wrap around the equation it will be on top of it. In Pages, select the table cell by clicking it once (if the cursor is flashing inside the cell, the cell is not selected if the cursor is flashing inside the cell, press Esc). From the list of available Add-Ins, click the icon for MathType and the. From the Add-Ins menu, select the Get Add-ins link and then select Admin Managed. You can find the store by going to Insert in the menu of Word 2016 and selecting the downward arrow next to Add-Ins. You have to create the equation in MathType, then select and copy it. Look for MathType in Microsoft's Add-In Store under Admin Managed. You also can't do this from the Insert > MathType Equation command in Pages. I specify inside the cell, because you can get an equation into a cell, but it's not part of the cell's contents it's background fill.You cannot add equations (or any other graphic objects) inside a table cell in Pages 5.0.1.If you had the old iWork '09 apps installed before installing the new apps, they'll still be in your Applications folder, and you can use Pages 4.3 to edit a document with equations in tables.If you don't convert it, the old document's equations will remain intact, but only if you edit it in Pages 4.3. It should ask you before converting the document to the new format though.
